Risk & Vulnerability training

We partnered up with the Street Angels Leeds on Friday 18th January for training delivered by the Safer Leeds team of Leeds City Council, with a focus on risk & vulnerability specific to the evening economy in the city.

Within the training we considered a number of different real life case studies to identify the situation that made the individual vulnerable, and the opportunities in each of the cases where someone should have intervened or raised the alarm to make the victim safe.

Although a number of participants had previous knowledge & training on safeguarding, the session focused this in the evening economy setting.

The topics were challenging in covering physical & sexual assault, human trafficking and child sexual exploitation, but really helpful for our volunteers to have increased knowledge for our engagement in the community, and we're grateful to Safer Leeds for supporting us with this training.
