Help us Challenge LGBT+ Hate Crime

Our team of volunteers undertake many activities within the community, so we're always looking for more people to get involved in supporting a number of initiatives.

One of these activities is to work with other community members in engaging with the West Yorkshire Police Hate Crime scrutiny panel. This group is open to members of the LGBT+ communities and our allies, and meets on a 6 weekly basis in Leeds City Centre with sessions commencing at 6pm lasting up to 2 hours.

The scrutiny element of this describes reading through the recorded case notes of the Hate Crime, and reviewing the actions taken by the police in how they handled the investigation. The West Yorkshire Police Leeds Hate Crime Coordinators support the session and are able to guide the group through the cases, so no previous knowledge or experience required.

The next session is on Monday 8th October, then on a six weekly cycle after this date.

If you're interested in getting involved with this, or to support any of our other initiatives please get in touch with us on info@angelsoffreedom.org.uk.
