Leeds Pride 2018 activities

Over the Leeds Pride period our group will be organising or participating in a number of activities: Weds 1st Aug - we’re running an LGBT+ community volunteers event, thanks to funding received from the Leeds Pride community grants scheme. Fri 3rd Aug - is our usual Friday evening presence in the Lower Briggate & Call Lane areas of the city, where we’re around for people to chat with. This can be just a simple hello, to answer any questions or to signpost to support services working in the community. Sat 4th Aug - we’re supporting the Leeds Pride Community Marketplace event in Leeds City Museum, running 11am til 3pm. Come chat to us or the range of other community groups & services in attendance. Sun 5th August - The main Pride day - some of our volunteers will be available in Millennium Square from 11.30am until the start of the parade at 2pm in order to promote our group to attendees at Pride. We’ll also be supporting British Transport Police on the evening of Leeds Pride to provide specific Pride Friendly train services. These are the 21:48 Leeds to Wakefield Westgate and the 22:01 Leeds to Bradford Interchange. Tues 7th Aug - we’ll be winding down from the weekend at the Coffee & Cake cafe, running 6.30-8.30pm in the Priestley Hall of Mill Hill Chapel. Here we’ll be chatting and, well, drinking coffee & eating cake! Thanks to funding provided by Cllr Paul Wray, Cllr Hannah Bithell & Cllr Kayleigh Brooks we’ll be giving away some Angels of Freedom promotional goodies over the weekend too, so even more reason than usual to stop us for a chat. We wish you all a happy Leeds Pride weekend, and do come speak to us if you see us around.
